Adventurous Activity Day 2025
Adventurous Activity Day - 14th May 2025
This year we had the Climbing wall back in again for our Secondary and Post 16 Learners. Being the third time for some of them it was great to see their confidence and skill level building from the previous years it has come to Brooke.
We were able to get some of our complex learners to the top using the accessible harnesses and the expertise of the climbing instructors ensuring that all of our learners were able to have access to the experience. A huge thank you to the Outdoor Education Company for making the day fully inclusive.

For those who were unable to attend, we hope you enjoy this video tour of the event.
World Book Day 2025
We are excited to celebrate World Book Day on Thursday 6th March! Students are invited to dress up as their favourite book character and take part in a range of fun and engaging World Book Day activities across their phase.
Competition Alert!
We are also running a World Book Day competition where students can decorate a potato as their favourite book character! Please send in entries by Thursday, ready to be judged by our Admin Team.
To help inspire your child’s creativity, we have attached some photos below with examples of decorated potatoes. We can’t wait to see all the fantastic creations!
We are also holding a Family Reading Event from 10.30am-11.30am, where we would like to invite parents/carers to join their children in a shared reading experience to foster a love for literacy and develop parents/carers understanding of reading. Please let us know via Class Dojo if you will joining us.
Safer Internet Day 2025
On Tuesday 11th February 2025 we supported Safer Internet Day. The theme this year was 'Too good to be true? Protecting yourself and others from scams online.'
Safer Internet Day focuses on starting a conversation about how to spot, respond to and report scams of all types online.
The week before in our assemblies we introduced the theme for this year's event, then throughout school we learnt about different types of scams and general internet safety.
Some learners in the secondary department took part in the BBC Bitesize live online event. Japan Class learned about Chilly the Penguin and helped him make safe decisions whilst being online. Students in Turtle class sang a song about online safety before discussing their trusted adults, what was safe to share online, and what should be kept private. Tiger class loved the song about Dongle the Rabbit and learnt how to be SMART online.
Some of the resources we used:
Information for families with helpful hints and suggestions of how to keep your child safe online.
